How ChunkyHost fixed-term billing actually works

This post previously described ChunkyHost as usage-metered hosting. That was wrong. The checkout sells a fixed prepaid billing term, and the amount does not change with player activity. This correction replaces the earlier explanation in full.
What you are billed for
At checkout, you choose a plan and a billing cycle. Stripe charges the displayed total for that term. A quiet week or an empty server does not pause the term and does not create a usage credit.
The plan cards show the effective monthly price and, for longer cycles, the total due today. Those are pricing presentations for a prepaid term, not an hourly rate.
What player activity changes
Player activity does not change the prepaid term. The same displayed total applies whether your group plays every day, only at weekends or takes a quiet week. There is no hourly usage meter and no automatic activity credit.
What is not available today
The current paid-server flow has important limits:
- plan changes are unavailable after purchase;
- backup creation, scheduling and restore are unavailable;
- an existing world cannot be transferred or imported through the panel;
- servers run Java Edition; Bedrock crossplay does not translate Java mods; and
- the panel cannot add or remove plugins after provisioning.
Choose the plan size and supported Java server software you need before checkout. Do not place the only copy of irreplaceable data on the service while backup and export paths are unavailable.
What to check before you switch
- Check the full prepaid total. The billing selector shows the term and the amount due; player activity does not change it.
- Check the renewal date. The Billing page shows when the current term renews, and the Stripe portal is where you manage future renewals.
- Choose enough capacity up front. Plan changes are not available today. We wrote a whole guide arguing you probably need less than you have been sold.
